Statement on Cancellation of Navigator Carbon Capture and Storage Project

Navigator recently announced that it is cancelling its carbon capture and storage project due to the “unpredictable” state regulatory process.

Reducing the carbon footprint for ethanol is important and represents a change we need to make.

Change is hard and the decision by Navigator to suspend their project shows us all why regulatory certainty is critical for major infrastructure projects.

More than ever, it is important that we support and raise our voices to keep other CCS projects moving forward. Our corn growers, ethanol industry, local communities, and ag economy depend on these projects for future economic growth.

It is essential that we continue to invest in a brighter future by supporting carbon capture, transportation and storage projects.
