Food & Water Watch Declares War on Farmers and Ethanol Producers

Food & Water Watch, a radical Washington, DC-based anti-ethanol organization, has declared war on farmers and ethanol producers.

Food & Water Watch’s Emma Schmit has repeatedly attacked carbon capture and storage projects. She specifically singled out Iowa farmers for growing too much corn, according to a report from The Guardian.

Schmit demanded Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds “direct her Iowa Utilities Board to put an end to carbon pipelines in Iowa for good.”

Food & Water Watch condemned ethanol as “dirty” and mocked the idea that it is a “renewable” fuel source. The radical organization was concerned that carbon capture could “entrench” ethanol.

With that kind of anti-ethanol record, it’s no wonder many farmers and ethanol producers reject the group’s false attacks on America’s energy future.
