Follow the Money: Friends of the Earth

Friends of the Earth is no friend to America’s farmers and ethanol producers.

The radical organization argues that ethanol is responsible for “increasing the cost of food, harming consumers, and wasting taxpayer money. Corn ethanol is neither environmentally nor socially sustainable and cannot be a part of any clean energy future.”

Furthermore, the group opposes the Biden administration’s biofuels mandate, despite the mandate’s strong support of farmers and ethanol producers. FOE attacks the mandate as “a toxic plan directly at odds with the Biden Administration’s commitment to Environmental Justice.”

Perhaps it should come as no surprise then that Energy Foundation China has provided $1,155,000 in grants to Friends of the Earth since 2003. Energy Foundation China has praised the communist Chinese government for its “efforts to achieve modernization by upgrading its economy and decarbonizing its energy system with high productivity and much lower emissions of carbon and other pollutants.”

Below are organizations that have provided grants of more than $40,000 to FOE since 2003.
